CloudAlly’s Role
When a new customer, either direct or managed by a Partner, subscribes to a CloudAlly Microsoft 365 service, and creates a backup task for one of the Microsoft 365 products, CloudAlly is granted Administrator privileges in Azure in order to set up the backups. We install one or both of the following applications into the customer's Azure cloud platform.
- CloudAlly for Microsoft SharePoint and OneDrive
- CloudAlly for Microsoft Exchange and Teams/Groups
NOTE: The CloudAlly service requires Admin permissions in order to access all of the customer’s data to back it up, and restore the data with appropriate permissions, where applicable. |
The Customer’s Role
- It is the responsibility of the customer’s Administrator to configure the CloudAlly application(s) in the Azure store, to control which users are allowed to use them.
- If that customer cancels his CloudAlly subscription, it is the customer’s responsibility to remove the CloudAlly application(s) from Azure after the subscription has terminated.
